We thank anyone that are able to come to any level of our wedding. We will be having a live stream for the portion of the wedding in Norway.
We will post the best deals we can find on flights and other travel expenses.
We are also in the process of reserving hotel rooms to allow for everyone to stay in the same place at a reasonable rate.
We have prebooked a block of rooms in a hotel to accommodate all that are invited. We made sure to keep it the most reasonable as well as comfortable. Keeping us all together will make it easier for our wedding planner Paul to transport us all to the wedding venue. If you cannot attend please let Braden and I know before February 1st 2025. Payment for the rooms we are still figuring out whether its easier through us or directly to our planner.
Shuttles to and from airport potentially can be arranged through our wedding planner or individually please if you need help with this part of your trip let us know. -Robyn
At this point in time flight rates seem to range from $1200-$1500 CAD per a person we have yet to find any better rate and that is flying directly into OSLO, Norway. We have personally found it actually to be more affordable to fly into Bergen. Although not as big of a city, it still has alot to offer and is a fishing town.
The attached map shows a pin to Aurland, most flights will arrive into Oslo. There is arrangements through our wedding planner for shuttles if you need help planning this part of the journey. Oslo should be noted as one of the hotspots for cool touring opportunities and wonderful museums.
The weather can be unpredictable in spring from being warmer to cooler -4 to +16 C is what is estimated but can be warmer. I suggest that everyone makes sure they prepare to be outdoors as some of our ceremony will be outside in the beautiful Fjords.
May starts the wonderful time of the Midnight sun! Much like the Yukon the sun does not set! If you are truly a sensitive sleeper to light a eye mask may be helpful!
There is a option by Rail from Bergen to Flam which is a short trip to Aurland. Its cost is $33 CAD. It has one transfer in the middle, and as you can see by the attached map is 3 hrs long. It is supposed to be incredibly beautiful and scenic.
Oslo To Flam is famous for the beauty of seeing the country side but overall is longer. Depends if you would like to do the scenic route.
Looks like most canadian and US license are accepted in Norway. So car rentals are easily aquired if you want to go that route. Driving laws are very much the same as here. Except you must drive with your headlights on at all times as a part of visibility.
